Raffaele Marciello won this afternoon his first victory in Spa after a drenched race. Stoffel Vandoorne, poleman of the day, is second followed by Johnny Cecotto.

The first GP2 race happened under a lot of rain. After only three laps, the race had to be interrupted due to a heavy downpour that made the driving conditions very difficult. When the race was halted, Raffaele Marciello, (Racing Engineering) was 3d behind poleman Stoffel Vandoorne (ART) and Johnny Cecotto (Trident).

At the restart, Vandoorne lost the first place to Cecotto at la Source. But just a few moments later, the latter went too wide in the Combes and had to give Vandoorne his place back.

On lap 9,  Marciello passed Cecotto. With 4 seconds the leader, he chose to pit two laps later to catch up on Vandoorne. He then attacked many the first and was able to take the first time with only two laps to go. il a choisi de s’arrêter deux tours après son adversaire, ce qui lui a permis de rattraper son retard.

As they passed the checkered flag, Marciello was two seconds ahead of Vandoorne. Cecotto managed to maintain his 3d position. Brasilian driver Felipe Nasr was not able to worry him although he made a great race. He is followed by Mitch Evans, Joylon Palmer, Artem Markelov and Daniel Abt.

Jolyon Palmer is still the championship leader with 39 points ahead of Felipe Nasr.
